We are so looking forward to returning to Everdale this fall! Since this location is a new one for Old School community, we wanted to show you how lovely of a place it is and how wonderful a time we had there.

If you have never heard of it, Everdale Place is a community-focused, non-profit organic farm and education centre. And it's just a quick hour's drive north of Toronto!

Following last year’s pop-up bluegrass camp, we're so glad to be back to gather our growing community once again. Last autumn's camp weekend set a really high bar, the folks involved in planning and producing the event as well as the beautiful folks who attended all contributed to how much fun it was. It helped that we had an incredible teaching lineup: Jason Mercer on bass and bluegrass banjo, Joey Wright on mandolin, Artistic Director Kyle Kirkpatrick on clawhammer banjo, Saskia Tomkins on fiddle, and founder Jenny Whiteley.

You wouldn't believe how gorgeous the grounds and land all around the Everdale property is. Gavin Dandy and Della Campbell, the heart and engine of everything Everdale is and does, are deeply talented hosts. Every detail of our classroom spaces, stages, the farmhouse accommodations, the meeting areas and campgrounds, all were so thoughtfully arranged and planned.

On the Saturday evening of camp, the annual GoodGrass Concert in Everdale's main community, hosted in partnership with GoodLot Brewing Company. The audience had a wonderful, warm energy that made the evening so incredibly special, especially when our own campers took the stage between headlining acts. But the real magic happened after the concert itself, when instructors, campers, and audience members all gathered around the fire to pick tunes late into the night. Moments like these remind us what music is really for.
